Terms of use
The information on this site is general and is not legal or professional advice. By using it you agree to these terms.
Information only
Guides describe the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 (England and Wales) in plain English. Your situation may differ and the law may change. Take advice from a party wall surveyor or a solicitor before you act. The Act does not apply in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Directory
Listings are compiled from public sources and may be incomplete or out of date. A listing is not a recommendation, endorsement or guarantee of quality, and we do not check the standard of anyone's work. Membership tags come from the listing sources and are not independently verified: check any claim on the professional body's own register before you hire. We are not a party to any agreement between you and a surveyor, and we receive no payment for placing or ranking a listing. Distances are approximate.
Tools and templates
Templates, PDFs and calculators are drafts to help you. We do not guarantee they meet the legal requirements for your case. Have important documents checked by a party wall surveyor or solicitor before you serve them. Calculators do not contain real quotes and do not predict what you will pay.
Acceptable use
You may use the directory to find a surveyor for your own project. You must not: copy, scrape or systematically extract the directory or its data; republish it; use listed contact details for bulk, automated or unsolicited marketing (this may breach UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations); or use the site unlawfully.
Intellectual property
The guides, design and site code are our copyright. You may print or save single pages for personal use. Names, logos and professional-body marks belong to their owners and appear only to identify listings.
Links to other sites
We link to sites we do not control and are not responsible for their content.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on this site or from dealings with a listed professional. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you have as a consumer where you live.
