This site uses no cookies, accounts, advertising or analytics trackers. The tools run in your browser and nothing you type into them is sent to us. This notice also explains how we handle personal data in the surveyor directory.
Who we are

Visitors to this site
We do not ask you for personal details. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and secure the site. Postcodes you type into the search stay in your browser. If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply, and keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (running the site and answering enquiries).
People and businesses listed in the directory
What we hold: business name, a person's professional name, business phone number(s), business address, business email, website, professional qualifications and body memberships (for example RICS, FPWS, Pyramus & Thisbe), and links to business social media pages.
Where it comes from: publicly available professional directories and registers, and the professional's or firm's own website. See Data sources and removals for the list. We did not receive it from you directly, so we are telling you here.
Why we use it and our lawful basis: to help members of the public find a party wall surveyor. We rely on legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Listing professionals who publicly offer a service is in line with why they published their details, and we limit what we show: we do not publish personal webmail addresses, personal social media profiles or secondary personal mobile numbers of individuals. We keep a written legitimate interests assessment and will share a summary on request.
Who sees it: anyone who visits the site. We do not sell the data, and we do not use it to send marketing.
How long: listings are reviewed and refreshed regularly, and removed when you ask or when we find they are out of date or no longer offered.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, restrict our use of it, or object to us listing you. Where you object to your listing, we will remove it. Email partywallagreement@f1rst.co.uk or use the form on Data sources and removals. We aim to respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Sending your data abroad
Cloudflare may process technical data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. We do not otherwise transfer directory data outside the UK.
Changes
We may update this notice. The current version is always on this page.
